At the age of 60, I chose to have a full facelift with Dr. Miguel Delgado, M.D. At my consultation, I brought him pictures of what I looked like at age 35. I asked him what he recommended for me to turn the clock back, not to age 35, but to what would be reasonable.
COMPUTER IMAGING FOR A FACELIFT
Dr. Delgado did computer imaging for me so that I could visualize his recommendations. I opted to go with all of his suggestions which included; a full facelift, upper and lower eyelid lift, redo nasal reshaping, replacement of a previous chin implant, endoscopic brow lift, lip augmentation, fat injections to the face and a TCA chemical peel. I agreed to have a video made to document my experience for Dr. Delgado to share with future patients. The video is a 3 part series and can be viewed here. Needless to say, I was thrilled with my results.

FACELIFT 10 YEARS LATER
Boy, how time flies! It has now been 10 years since my surgery; I just celebrated my 70th birthday! Most of my friends do not know how old I am and I decided to leave it that way. I believe that if you look young, you feel young, and if you feel young, you act young! I have found that I want my body to match my face, so I am more motivated to keep up an exercise program and stay fit, which keeps me healthy!

I would like to point out that I have enjoyed all aspects of my surgery, but there was one part of the procedure that I have been especially happy with that took me by surprise, and that is the fat injections to my face. I have had deep nasal labial folds since my early twenties which is a heredity factor for me. I also had a small but deep scar on my face from a mole removed many years ago. Dr. Delgado placed fat there as well, and today the scar is still all but invisible, see if you can find it! (It is on my left cheek!)Through the years I have had different injectable fillers, but they only lasted a few months to a year. The fat injections are still holding up! I have not had any cosmetic treatments since my surgery.

I now have 9 grandchildren, and I am fine with looking a little older with a few fine lines and wrinkles. However, after seeing the results of Cynosure’s SmartSkin⁺ laser resurfacing…umm maybe! And maybe just a little CoolSculpting on my tummy! We are so lucky to have these options available to us.
